Here is an image of my in-process drawing 42 inches by 90 inches.  The Sunday posts have become a lot more random with this project.  This drawing process is very slow but hopefully the result will be worth it if it doesn’t go up in flames!

This drawing is really starting to come along.  There are 3 layers right now… but this could change.

Here is my in-progress drawing…

I still have more work to do!   Thanks, Christian for the awesome photos!!!!

The details come first… to show how the paper is  being transformed.  The image of the whole composition does not show the drawing’s depth.

This week I have been busy tweaking my oval necklace.  Then I began thinking about the clasps for both necklaces.  But I may not be able to make them until I get my soldering station set up (August).

Here is my necklace all connected/stitched up.

A pile of working sketches (clasps) ….

For the oval money necklace I was originally thinking to make a clasp that continued that organic feeling.  However, my friend Christian suggested countering the organic forms with a clasp that is very clean and geometric.  So far I am digging that idea…

Then I also worked on possibilities of clasps for the previously posted necklace that looks light and fluffy containing cut-out crests of the dollar bills.   I am thinking of taking a cylinder and then pierce out the same crests used to create the necklace.  This would make the clasp be light like the elements of the necklace while creating a geometric form of substance…. this is another rough sketch….

So, on February 28, 2010 I lost this ring (the weathered ring on the top of the image).  It was a ring I made that was based off of my inconsolable series.  Though sad, I was able to recreate a different version of a similar-styled ring.  RIP, my lost ring.

Here is its replacement.  This ring’s aging process will be documented each week and be made into a still image video.

EVIDENCE…

Every Sunday night I will be loading a photo of my bench… evidence of what I have been exploring and what has changed and developed.  I hope you all check in.  My past blog (www.laurentickle.blogspot.com) documented how my thesis inconsolable transformed. This blog will investigate my different series: Value Exploration, inconsolable, and Weathered.
